Dan Molyneux



Introduced to ceramics in high school in Australia, Dan later apprenticed with a painter/sculptor in Bangalore, India while pursuing his undergraduate degree in comparative religion, anthropology, and languages. With subsequent experiences studying ceramics in Japan and Jerusalem, he worked in a ceramics studio while studying at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. He continued to make and instruct in ceramics while pursuing a PhD in French & Arabic literature at UC Berkeley. He then taught Arabic in Ithaca, NY alongside teaching classes in the Cornell University Pottery Studio. In 2007 he started an 18-month residency at the Cub Creek Foundation in Virginia, followed by 3 years as Chris Gustin’s assistant and studio manager. Dan followed up his fall 2011 residency at Watershed with residencies in Denmark, France, Boston and Québec.
